Local Hockey for 9 to 11 Year Old Boys and Girls

This is a local programme for boys and girls turning 9 to 11 years of age in 2024 who are keen on learning how to play hockey in a fun, safe environment. Training will be held midweek at Lalor Park.  Games will be played on Saturday mornings at Lalor Park.

For those who would like to have a go before signing up register for a free Come and Try Session.  Bring your family, bring your mates and Make Hockey Your Sport this winter.

Beginners are welcome

Start Date for Training

Participants can choose to train on either Tuesday or Thursday evenings at Lalor Park commencing as follows;

Tuesday 30 April

Thursday 2 May

Training Times

6:30pm to 7:30pm

Games 

The programme includes Saturday morning games played at Lalor Park with teams being formed from our Tuesday and Thursday training groups.

Can't play on Saturday mornings?  That's ok.  You are welcome to join for the midweek training sessions only.  Just let us know that's what you'll be doing.

Fees

Fees for the season are paid once at the time of registration.  There are no weekly fees.  Fees consist of 3 parts;

• Hockey Australia / Hockey NSW Fee 
• Hockey Blacktown Programme Fee
• Optional Add-Ons

Note:

• The Active Kids rebate voucher may be put towards payment
• Payment plans can be put in place if required.  Contact us to discuss prior to registering.

Equipment

All equipment will be supplied during the first weeks of training.  Ultimately players will be expected to bring their own stick, shin pads and mouthguard.

A junior equipment pack containing a stick, shin pads, mouthguard and ball can be purchased through Hockey Blacktown for $35.00 for younger and or smaller  players.

For taller children senior shin pads can be purchased for $30.  A senior equipment pack containing a mouthguard, ball and 36" beginner's stick can also be purchased for $35. 

Equipment packs should be purchased as add-ons when registering for the season. Alternatively you can get gear through Hockey Australia - hookin2hockey@hockey.org.au or through Just hockey  at Homebush. If you go to Homebush remember to get your parking ticket validated for free parking. 

Note: Mouthguards provided in equipment packs are a basic heat and mould type providing a basic level of protection.  

Clothing

Wear sports clothing.  Long socks are best to keep shin pads in place.

For all players registering on or before 10 May a Hockey Blacktown shirt will be included in the price of registration.

Optional add ons include;

• Hockey Blacktown beanie - $20
• Socks - $15 

Note - We have a limited number of beanies and socks in stock.  If more are required they will be ordered along with the Hockey Blacktown shirts.  Orders will take about 6 weeks to arrive.
